Show Tech Stripping Stone

There are many great hand stripping tools, one being stones. This might seemĀ a bit strangeĀ at first sight, but they are actually a great and very effective instrument to help you achieve the look you want for your dog.Ā The Show Tech stripping stonesĀ allow you to pull out dead and loose hair fromĀ a coarse and wiryĀ coat without damaging it, are lightweight andĀ can be easily cut into the right size for ergonomic use.Ā They are fantastic to quickly remove stubborn pet hairs from your couch, carpet, car seats or other fabric-covered surfaces as well.Ā
Ā

A stepping stone to successĀ

Stripping stones are ideal for hand stripping show dogs,Ā for situations where every hair is important and when theĀ hairsĀ must be totally hand-strippedĀ in their entire lengthĀ without damaging orĀ breaking them. They are alsoĀ greatĀ to restore a bad coat e.g.,Ā if yourĀ beloved four-legged friendā€™s coat has been clipped or stripped with a sharp stripping knife.Ā ByĀ regularly pullingĀ out the soft dull hairs from root to tip, there will be place again in theĀ hair follicleĀ for healthy wiry hairs to grow back!Ā Ā

A stripping stone isĀ extremely safe to use andĀ ideal if you are afraid of using a stripping knife.Ā Due toĀ their slightlyĀ less wear-resistantĀ characteristic, stripping stonesĀ will wear away with use.Ā This makes them easy to cut into the right size for your hand.Ā Because they are light and can be cut to size, these stones ensure ergonomic use.Ā If youĀ areĀ looking for a denser and more lasting version, aĀ groom(ing) stoneĀ might be the answer!Ā

Ā

Itā€™s all in the detailsĀ

  • Perfect forĀ strippingĀ coarse, wiry-coated breeds likeĀ terriers,Ā schnauzers,Ā spaniels and all other coats that need to be hand-stripped,Ā for short-haired dogs that shed hair all year round and also for horsesĀ and catsĀ
  • Used to pull out dead and loose hair without damaging the coatĀ
  • Great to restore a damaged or soft coat that has been clipped orĀ incorrectly strippedĀ
  • Can also be used to remove stubborn pet hairs from your couch, carpet, car seats or other fabric-covered surfacesĀ
  • Very lightweight and easy to useĀ
  • Has the least wear-resistant and the coarsest texture of all the hand stripping stones available
  • Note: Stripping should not hurt your dog. If the hairs are ripe and ready to come out, youā€™re basically just pulling out dead hair, which shouldĀ come outĀ easily.Ā

Use instructionsĀ

If you want to use theĀ strippingĀ stone on larger surfaces (horses, large dogs or carpets and the like), you can useĀ itĀ in its full size. Do you want the stone to fit in the palm of your hand? Then the stone can be cut with a comb or knife into a smaller piece.Ā Once the stripping stone is cut and ready to use, itā€™s time to start hand stripping.Ā Ā

Take the stone inĀ your dominantĀ hand and with the thumb of your other hand, hold the skin tightly.Ā Then with a gentle movement and without pushing downwards too much, comb in the direction of the coat growth using the stripping stone in order to remove the undercoat. This is a first way of hand stripping with a stone.Ā Ā

Thereā€™s also another way. Hold the stripping stone in the palm of your hand and while making a combing movement on the coat, put pressure on your thumb and other fingers in order to grip and trap the hairs between your fingers and the stone.Ā It is important toĀ onlyĀ take a few hairsĀ at a timeĀ and not pull them in a long, slow movement but fast.Ā You can makeĀ it easier by liftingĀ a few hairs from the coatĀ withĀ your other hand. With your fingers or a brush, you get to better see where to pull. Repeat until the desired length isĀ achieved. If you want to make it more comfortable for the dog,Ā we recommendĀ using your free handĀ toĀ slightly tighten the skin just above the area where you want to pull hairs.Ā Ā
