Video Blog - Dog Friendly Pancake Recipe

Everyone loves a pancake, especially homemade pancakes with all their favorite toppings, which is why Shrove Tuesday is always a favourite for the team at Christies Direct.

If you are clearing out the cupboards in preparation for lent, and want to make some delicious treats for the family but feel guilty about leaving your beloved dog out then this recipe is for you!

This quick and easy dog-friendly recipe went down a treat with Alfie in our studio - praise indeed!

Ingredients

Using these measurements, you should get about 15 pancakes - depending on how big you like your pancakes!

  • 1 cup buckwheat flour
  • 4 tablespoons cornflour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 large egg

Method

Add all your ingredients to a large bowl and use a whisk to mix together until smooth.

Put the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.

In a small frying pan, heat a small amount of butter (to coat). Using a ladle add the mix to the pan and cook each pancake about 1 minute on each side, flipping with a spatula.

(For bone-shaped pancakes, just pour the batter into a bone-shaped cookie cutter.)

Cool and serve.

If you want to use this recipe for the whole family just add 4 tablespoons of sugar to the mix once you have made your dogs share!
